Shannen Maria Doherty was born on April 12, 1971 in Memphis, Tennessee. The daughter of Tom, a bank employee, and Rosa, the owner of a beauty parlor, went from Memphis Belle, to Hollywood bitch. 

It was in 1990 that Shannen's life took a major turn, when a little show called Beverly Hills, 90210 hit TV screens. Shannen Maria Doherty got the part of Brenda Walsh. Ever since Shannen Doherty has been a famous movie star.

Shannen Doherty is the cover girl of the December issue of Playboy mag. Shannen Maria Doherty appeared partially nude in Playboy in 1993 and 1994.

While Shannen Doherty's personal life has been making tabloid headlines, her professional career went more the way of a slew of Made-for-TV movies, including: Forever Young, Obsessed, Freeze Frame, Jailbreakers, A Burning Passion, The Margaret Mitchell Story, and Sleeping With the Devil. Shannen Doherty also starred in the cult-favorite Mallrats, and co-starred with Christina Applegate in Nowhere.

In 1998, Shannen was cast as Prue Halliwell in Aaron Spelling's new television show "Charmed" with newcomers Lori Rom and Holly Marie Combs. Lori Rom, who was originally cast as Phoebe Halliwell, backed out of the show at last minute and "Melrose Place" star Alyssa Milano, was cast in her place. Tabloids stated that Shannen and Alyssa were bitter enemies, but both deny the rumours.
