Colleen Shannon who was described as "The hottest, sexiest DJ currently taking the entertainment industry by storm." is featured in the pages of Playboy. She is 50^th Anniversary Playmate i.e. Playboy Miss January 2004. I guess the runner-up of the "Big-Anniversary PMOM Search", Colleen Shannon, is a wonderful choice. She is a great choice for January 2004 Playmate anyway.

Although the news seemed to come out of the blue (Colleen Shannon wasn't introduced until the end of the Playboy's 50^th Birthday Anniversary contest) there are several issues to be brought up.

First,  Playboy Playmate Hunt is an open contest. For the last three times, the "runner-up" was someone who never really entered the "playmate hunt contest". 

• Remember the 35th anniversary Playmate Fawna MacLaren. She was discovered at a party and invited to shoot test photos. 
• 40th anniversary PMPM Anna Marie Goddard wasn't a part of the regular playmate search. 
• The Bernaola Twins (45th anniversary playmates) were noticed incidentally by a playmate 'searcher'.
